Facility Maintenance & Janitorial Technician

We have an opening for a Facility Maintenance & Janitorial Technician at our SE shop location. Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager, the Facility Maintenance & Janitorial Technician is accountable for maintaining the cleanliness of the shop and yard. They will also assist in regular maintenance and repair of the facility and equipment as required.
Responsibilities also include:
•Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas using appropriate techniques and equipment.
•Clean and maintain floors, including tiles, and concrete areas.
•Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
•Operate floor-cleaning equipment such as a Zamboni-style floor scrubber.
•Conduct deep cleaning tasks as needed.
•Handle and use commercial-grade cleaning products safely.
•Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and report any shortages.
•Dispose of waste and recycling properly.
•Manage time effectively to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed within designated schedules.
•Maintain grounds, including landscaping, mowing, operating a string trimmer, pruning branches.
•Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas such as walkways and parking lots.
•Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as required to support overall cleanliness and functionality.
•Perform basic repairs such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaks, and patching up minor damage.
•Utilize hand and power tools for maintenance tasks as required.
•Handle heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
•Communicate effectively with team members and address any concerns or special requests.
•Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor for resolution.
•Be available for after-hours and weekend work schedules if necessary.
•Assist other departments with various projects when time permits.
•Perform all duties to meet the responsibilities listed in the Employee and Corporate HSE Handbooks.
•Perform duties according to the Company’s quality system procedures and work instructions.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma (or equivalent) with mechanical aptitude, knowledge of facility maintenance, and the ability to communicate and organize themselves in a professional environment. Previous janitorial experience is an asset, along with strong time management, attention to detail, the ability to complete tasks efficiently & on schedule. In order to be successful in this role, the appropriate candidate must have the ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs, perform physically demanding tasks, be comfortable working with cleaning chemicals, tools, and maintenance equipment both indoors and outdoors during varying weather conditions. Flexibility with work schedule including evenings and weekends along with reliable transportation is required.
