Approaching its 15 year anniversary, West Supply is a studio and workshop that is a high energy, high quality producer of cast bronze and cast glass furniture, lighting and sculpture. The crew of 30 is comprised of highly skilled and talented craftsmen and women, designers, and executives from the design industry. Culture is very important at WS, and this role will be focused on the improvement and oversight of our greatest tool - our facility itself and the equipment within. The facility is 35,000 square feet.

Job Summary

Performs maintenance, repair, adjustment, and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of building and facility equipment and fixtures. Duties may fall into a variety of trades including industrial mechanic, electrical, construction, plumbing, and grounds maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

● Facilities maintenance, construction, and repair experience in an industrial setting.

● Working knowledge with air compressors is a must.

● Electrical experience is strongly preferred.

● Working knowledge of common maintenance trades such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and industrial machine / equipment repair and installation.

● Troubleshooting skills

● Teamwork, great attitude, attention to detail and record-keeping

Job Duties and Responsibilities

● Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on pneumatic tools, and production machines such as kilns/furnaces, tig welders, electronic spray booths

● Follow operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions.

● Performs electronic recordkeeping related to preventative maintenance and repair; tracks and closes assigned work orders

● Responds to emergencies and closures including adverse weather to ensure that all facilities are protected and remain operational. Assists with tasks required in preparing to open after a closure including snow and ice removal, systems and equipment checks, and start-up operations as assigned.

● Coordinates projects (such as equipment install, moving, roof repair & maintenance) with efficiency and proficiency in meeting timelines and schedules.

● At times, operates a company vehicle, and assists in deliveries and pick-ups of fragile products and materials.

● Oversee and/or participate in janitorial tasks as needed.

● Performs other supportive duties to the workshop and leadership team as assigned.

● Assist in the foundry and metals departments as required to meet production demands.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions. May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, noise, and temperature extremes. Company provides and uses required personal protective and safety supplies.

Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs while performing job duties. Wrist, hand, and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials. Forklift certification may be facilitated by West Supply if not already certified.
