Responsible for general upkeep and indoor and outdoor custodial and facilities projects for the Mason production plant.
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the entire facility, ensuring that all areas, including restrooms, break rooms, office spaces, and common areas, are consistently organized, cleaned, and presentable.
- Proactively manage waste disposal, including the collection and removal of trash to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
- Operate and maintain floor cleaning equipment, such as sweepers and oil mating, working with the safety coordinator and maintenance to ensure all floors are properly maintained for safety and aesthetic appeal.
- Work closely with the Facilities Manager to address specific maintenance and cleanliness needs as they arise, prioritizing tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and a welcoming environment for all staff and visitors.
- Responsible for groundskeeping including operating 360 riding lawn mower and other lawn and landscape equipment, seasonal upkeep such as shoveling and salting, and serving as backup for snow plowing.
- Assist with general facility-related projects at the plant.
- Responsible for miscellaneous errands and deliveries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be 21 years-of-age or older.
- Janitorial or general labor experience required.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and ability to be covered on company auto insurance (based on driving record) required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to operate machinery, including fork truck, for custodial and groundskeeping functions
- Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating self-sufficiency in managing tasks while also being adaptable to guidance and supervision from management.
- General computer experience preferred
- Ability to stand for an entire shift to perform job duties
- Physical activity such as bending, reaching, and twisting to access and clean various areas of the facilities and grounds and to operate required machinery
- Manual dexterity to operate required machinery
- Excessive walking during the entire shift for general upkeep of facility and grounds
- Ability to safely ascend and descend steps, stairs, or ladders for painting duties and to access fork truck, vehicles, and various areas of the facilities
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to perform general upkeep and projects; occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.
- Exposure to machinery and loud noises
- Perform outdoor work in various climates and conditions.
- Local travel required for company business.
