Extrusion Work Leader

Altec Aluminum Technologies is an ISO-9001 certified company located in Jeffersonville Indiana. We are dedicated to producing high quality custom aluminum extrusions of all shapes and sizes.

Altec is looking to hire a Production Work Leader. Work leaders are responsible for leading the extrusion production crew through a safe and efficient shift. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with good communication skills and someone that is ready to learn a new skill set. The ability to follow through and familiarity with the flow in a manufacturing setting are a major pluses.

Main Job Functions:

- Responsible for the daily leadership and accountability of the Extrusion Press Team, taking the lead role in day-to-day coordinating and problem solving

- Train new employees and leads by example

- Works with the Press Foreman to lead daily capacity planning – ensuring their press is up and running and all roles are filled

- Ensures the team is adhering to PPE requirements and safety protocol

- Maintains the ability to perform all press related procedures and job duties - Press operation, die changes, sets billet ovens, sets cutback saw, monitors extrusion quality, checks extrusions dimensionally

- Utilizes the press pie chart and records production and downtime accurately

- Sequences work orders for the shift with a focus on efficiency and on-time delivery

- Maintains an understanding of the EPICS production system for pulling die drawings and other related info

- Verifies that all extrusions are produced to print and all work order instructions are understood by the team by performing quality checks at specified intervals

- Committed to communication, working closely all team members, and support continuous improvement initiatives

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.33 per hour
