Job Description
Job Title: Extrusion Operator
Department: Extrusion
Reports To: Plant Manager
Job Qualifications:
•
Ability to read and write
•
Experienced with using a caliper and micrometer; or ability to learn
Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
•
Set up and operate a variety of machines.
•
Mix color concentrate to compound, using scale and ratio specifications.
•
Set up lasermike for specific information pertaining to Traveler folder.
•
Check bare cable for nonconformance.
•
Ensure concentricity is within accepted limits.
•
Make sure coating is smooth.
•
Complete the required Quality Control and Traveler paperwork correctly; maintain records.
•
Perform machine maintenance as determined by preventive maintenance schedule. Keep department clean and orderly.
•
The manufacture of extruded cable requires the following physical abilities:
•
Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s).
•
Handling by seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands.
•
Standing for extended periods of time.
•
Lifting, carrying objects weighing 75 lbs. or less.
•
Pushing, pulling objects weighing 30 lbs. or less.
•
Knowledge that Continental Cable is an ISO/AS certified company and understands the Quality Policy.
•
Maintain a safe work environment at all times and follow all Continental Cable safety policies including safety glasses, work shoes, and all required personal protection equipment.
•
Perform all other duties as assigned.
