Blackwood Solutions is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team at the West Farms Yard. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, particularly excavators, to assist with material separation and yard maintenance. Forklift experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities:

· Operate excavators to separate, move, and load materials efficiently and safely

· Clean and clear lanes to ensure safe and organized yard conditions

· Sort and segregate materials based on type and destination (e.g., recycling, disposal, reuse)

· Maintain clean and organized work areas, following company safety protocols

· Conduct pre-operational inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs

· Use forklifts to assist in moving pallets or materials when necessary

· Communicate effectively with the yard team and supervisors to ensure daily operational goals are met

· Follow all safety guidelines and participate in safety meetings and training

Qualifications:

· Proven experience operating excavators in a construction, recycling, or yard environment

· Forklift certification or experience preferred

· Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

· Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks

· Reliable transportation and punctual attendance

Required:

· Valid driver’s license

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 7am – 5pm
