Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, specifically excavators, to install water, sewer, and storm utilities. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The Excavator Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
•

•
Operate excavators and other heavy equipment such as backhoes and graders to complete excavation tasks IN A SAFE MANOR.
•
Perform digging, paving, and bulldozing activities as required by project specifications.
•
Maintain the equipment by conducting regular inspections and maintenance as well as performing minor repairs.
•
Collaborate with site supervisors and other operators to ensure smooth workflow on construction sites.
•
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery.
•
Assist in loading and unloading materials from tankers or other transport vehicles.
•
Keep the work area clean and organized to promote safety and efficiency.
Skills
•
Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with excavators installing wet utilities for a minimum of 3 years
•
Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
•
Ability to operate various types of heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
•
Familiarity with construction site practices and safety standards.
•
Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness for precise operation of machinery.
•
Capability to work collaboratively within a team environment while following instructions from supervisors.
•
Physical stamina to handle the demands of operating heavy equipment for extended periods.
