Estimator Advisor - Preconstruction

The Estimating Advisor role is a hybrid, in-office role in our Broomfield, Colorado office. In this role the Advisor is responsible for estimating Balance of Plant (BOP) costs for Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, providing estimates and pricing information for all facets of renewable project construction. Additionally, the Advisor will help build, develop, lead, and mentor the estimating team.

Every day in this role you will provide project BOM, pricing, and support for large and complex wind, solar, and storage projects during the pre-construction phase of the project.

- Estimate Development: Manage estimate development for medium complexity and large utility-scale energy storage projects, including identifying labor, material, and time requirements; preparing estimating takeoffs; analyzing regional labor rates; and obtaining vendor and subcontractor quotations

- Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with engineering, procurement, and other stakeholders; participate in external/client discussions, schedule development, contract execution planning, and proposal generation; lead project estimates for complex projects

- Site Visits and Analysis: Travel to project sites to understand construction sequences, site conditions, and perform time-studies; review all estimates for complex and large utility-scale solar and battery storage projects

- Continuous Improvement and Mentorship: Maintain and update estimating systems; ensure continuous improvement of tools, templates, processes, and procedures; coach, train, and mentor estimators; support development of new crew assemblies and labor strategies

- Industry Engagement and Technical Expertise: Stay updated on industry standards and technological improvements; attend conferences and trade shows; participate in technical kick-offs; collaborate with labor compliance groups

What You’ll Bring

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field

- Seven (7) years of experience estimating BOP costs for Utility Scale Wind, Solar, and BESS projects, with a proven track record of estimating construction project costs

- Extensive experience with Heavy Bid, B2W, or WinEST, with proficiency in electronic cost data tools like RSMeans, and Microsoft Software Applications skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)

- GIS, AutoCAD, or equivalent tools

- Ability to establish and maintain a network or building material suppliers and vendors, and review maps, conceptual diagrams, specifications, engineering drawings, equipment specifications, to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate

- Commitment to the advancement of renewable energy solutions across North America

Additional Details

- This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy in the Broomfield, CO office

- This role requires attendance at a work site on an as needed basis

- Must be available to travel domestically up to 25% of the time

- U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record, for the use of fleet cars, personal, and or hire cars when traveling, to drive to site locations and meetings

- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

- Must be physically able to conduct site visits and attend project site meetings and walk renewable energy sites for extended periods of time in hot or cold weather conditions to complete job assignments

Compensation

Salary Range:

$113,900 – $174,570 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
