Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and workplace safety standards. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs that promote a safe working environment while minimizing environmental impact. The EHS Coordinator will play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety and health within the organization.
This position is intended for Day Shift hours, Monday through Friday. Typical hours are as follows: Monday - Thursday: 7:30am to 4:00pm and Friday 7:30am to 11:30am.
Pay: Between $70,000 and $80,000 depending on experience. Quarterly Bonuses and Annual Bonuses will be distributed depending on success of Company Performance Goals.
- Conduct inspections throughout the facility; reporting and recordkeeping for environmental and safety compliance; Ensures recordkeeping requirements are maintained per local, state, and federal environmental and occupational safety regulatory agency requirements
- Lead EHS training activities facility wide for all employees to include Evacuation Drills, Safety Training, Industrial Hygiene Testing and Forklift Training
- Conduct and document facility inspections of hazardous waste accumulation/chemical storage
- Facilitates root cause analysis and monitors status of corrective actions on significant environmental or health and safety related incidents; Maintains OSHA 300 Log and submits injury data weekly to Management Team
- Conduct plant safety and RCRA inspections. Perform and participate in various internal and external audits to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations for EHS
- File appropriate permits: Form R, Tier I/II, and quarterly hazardous waste reports
- Knowledge of requirements and compliance for shipping hazardous material, per DOT and RCRA regulation
- Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on the organizational process
- Maintain RO water system, as necessary
- Maintain safety and first aid inventory, emergency lighting, alarms, chemical lists (SDS records), etc.
- Coordinate decontamination of equipment and anodes prior to disposal or reuse
- Other duties as needed and directed by the Lab Manager- 7+ years experience in chemical safety or comparable safety training field
- Experience leading new hire training and plant-wide annual safety training
- Current Wastewater Certification Level D or ability to obtain and maintain certification
- Current HAZWOPER, HAZWOPER 40, RCRA, and DOT certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification
- Experience with ISO Certification 14001:2015 preferred
- Lifting required (up to 50 lbs.; moving 55-gallon drums >100 lbs.)
- Frequent contact with hazardous chemicals required
- Up to 22 days annual leave for new employees (PTO Leave, Holiday, and Vacation)
- Christmas time Company Shut-Down Days provided (40 hours in 2025)
