Mesa presently has an opportunity for Entry Level Substation Protection & Control Designer. This role provides an excellent opportunity for growth in the field of Substation Protection & Control (P&C) design. This unique position provides to opportunity to learn some of the latest design software and techniques to develop state-of-the-art Power Substation protection and control designs.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced design team members to develop the requisite skills to become proficient at Substation Protection & Control design. In this role, the successful candidate will gain and apply knowledge of latest power substation technology including microprocessor relays, digital metering, and SCADA remote control. This knowledge will be applied to develop design solutions for protection of power substations and high voltage transmission lines. The successful candidate will collaborate with other P&C designers and engineers through all phases of the design process to produce high-quality, constructible design packages for each scope of work.

- Fundamental knowledge and understanding of electricity - required
- CAD experience - preferred
- Knowledge of drafting principles - preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) - preferred
- Team Player: Works well as a member of a team - required
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication - required
- Strong organization and time management skills - required
- Possesses an inquisitive mindset; seeks to find answers independently but is not afraid to ask questions when necessary - required
- 2 year Associate's degree in engineering or related field or 2 years of demonstrated CAD drafting experience is a minimal requirement.
This opportunity is for a hybrid work environment (home and office) and requires residing in the Knoxville, TN area.
