Mesa presently has an opportunity for Entry Level Substation Physical Designer. This role provides an excellent opportunity for growth in the field of Substation Physical design. This unique position provides to opportunity to learn some of the latest design software and techniques to develop state-of-the-art Power Substation design portfolios.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced design team members to develop the requisite skills to become proficient at Substation Physical design. In this role, the successful candidate will gain and apply knowledge of latest power substation technology and operational practices. This knowledge will be applied to develop physical design solutions for the construction of power substations. The Substation Designer will collaborate with Designers and Engineers through all phases of the design process to produce high-quality, constructible design packages for each scope of work.

Please note the following requirements for applicant consideration:

- Ability to envision components and equipment in three dimensions - required

- CAD experience - preferred

- Knowledge of drafting principles - required

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) - preferred

- Team Player: Works well as a member of a team - required

- Proficiency in verbal and written communication - required

- Strong organization and time management skills - required

- Possesses an inquisitive mindset; seeks to find answers independently but is not afraid to ask questions when necessary - required

Education/ Experience Level:

- 2 year Associate's degree in engineering or related field or 2 years of demonstrated CAD drafting experience is a minimal requirement.

This opportunity is for a hybrid work environment (home and office) and requires residing in the Knoxville, TN area.
