Entry level Lime plant position – Lab Technician Rate $26.32 – $30.32

Reports to: Quality Supervisor July 30, 2025

POSITION SUMMARY

Graymont’s Indian Creek Plant in Townsend, Montana plant is seeking a trainee expected to advance to the Lab Technician position. Successful candidates must possess a strong safety attitude, strong sense of teamwork and cooperation, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a self-directed work environment without supervision. The position requires attention to detail, a high level of organization, and the ability to multitask. This is a 24/7 operation and applicant could work rotating shifts, nights, and weekends, but is expected to be primarily weekdays, day shift.

Responsibilities:

- High standards for safety and health

- Perform all needed preshift examinations on Lab, plant, and mobile equipment.

- Conduct activities related to the laboratory operation.

- Sample and test samples from the quarry to finished product.

- Assist in improvement of lab efficiencies.

- High level of communication both verbal and written.

- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Safety oriented in every aspect of the job.

- Team player, proactive with strong multi-tasking skills.

- Mechanical aptitude with good trouble shooting skills.

- Self-starter with ambition to improve overall plant atmosphere.

- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.

- Able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.

- Ability to follow ASTM testing procedures.

- Willingness to learn and follow proper sampling, prep, testing, Instrument operation, calibration, and maintenance.

- Perform other duties as assigned and willing to work after hours and weekends as necessary.

- Prior lab experience a plus.
