Job Summary

This is the third level (fourth if Senior) of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role job classification. Engineering Technologist III provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with limited supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independence.

Basic QualificationNote: This posting is for one open position. Dependent on relative experience, the level to which a candidate is aligned is outlined below.

Engineering Technologist III* Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) AND three (3)+ years of relevant industry experience, OR

Senior Engineering Technologist* Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) AND six (6)+ years of relevant industry experience, OR

Preferred Qualifications* Good written and oral communication skills

Working Conditions Hybrid Mobility Classification* – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility

Specific Requirements* Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
