Osmose is currently seeking make ready Engineering Technician's Level I-V in the following locations;
Atlanta, GA, Westborough, MA and/or REMOTE for experienced candidates only.
This is a production position and primarily responsible for performing tasks with an emphasis in meeting customer expectations as it pertains to timely and accurate submission of deliverables. Engineering Technician's will work under the direction of a Supervisor and/or coordination of the Project Lead.
- Determine if the existing pole configurations require Make Ready Engineering (MRE) for a new attachment per NESC/G095 requirements.
- Develop new attachment plan to address clearance violations.
- Perform Pole Loading Analysis (PLA) of existing and proposed pole configurations.
- Create Work Orders based on MRE and PLA results.
- Review pole data collected in field for accuracy of existing attachments.
- Aid and guide less experience project members.
- Communicate with Field Management and Clients as needed.
- Use data/project management systems to document and track model progress.
- Be willing to assist other Project Teams if workflow requirements dictate.
- Track and report on progress of production projects.
- Track time spent on projects and maintain schedule.
- Four-year Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) preferred but not required.
- Minimum 6 months experience performing Make Ready Engineering (MRE), Pole Loading Analysis (PLA), and/or Work Order Writing required.
- Experience using NESC/GO95 to perform MRE and PLAs.
- Experience using O-Calc Pro or similar program preferred.
- Work on assigned tasks with moderate to minimum required direction and input from supervisor.
- Ability to accurately and effectively identify overhead utility attachments.
- Understanding of basic engineering concepts, such as strength of materials, loads on structures and member forces, and reactions is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required.
- Computer experience to include Microsoft Office products.
