This position reports to the Overhaul Manufacturing Support Services Manager but may be assigned specific duties related to other Overhaul departments. Due to frequent interaction with internal and external customers, excellent face to face customer service skills is essential. Strong collaboration with Production Technicians and other Engineering Technicians is required to ensure assignments and responsibilities are carried out in an effective and timely manner. Additionally, an in-depth knowledge of turbomachinery parts and processes, as well as basic skills in Baan/ERP LN, SFIS, MS Office, Windchill are required.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Manage Service Order documentation for disassembly's and shop repairs
- Monitor disassembly and shop repairs to ensure safety and quality of part removal processes
- Manage life limited components and detailed records per the applicable ES specification
- Assess condition of returned equipment using Insight Assess app.
- Carry out CPECC process and complete documentation
- Support Customer Witness and Failure Analysis shop repairs and disassembly's
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of critical components per Engineering requirements
- Support small PDCA or A3 projects within group
- Maintain and update overhaul instructions and publications (production, test, OTL, etc.)
- Complete EIR's under direction of Engineering
- Reporting and management of internal and supplier quality issues
- Quality liaison for process partner relationships (Turbotec, TMO, Zatec, etc.)
- Manage and improve quality metrics for corrective actions associated with RN's, QA's, etc.
- Create and maintain QMS documentation (process maps, work instructions, guidance notes, etc.)
- Verify and process tool requests
- Maintain tooling records and metrics in various tooling systems
- Support the EIR process with the updating and creation of process instructions in Quicksilver and SFIS
- High school education or equivalent
- 3+ years turbomachinery experience - 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or remanufacturing environment- Basic computer and camera skills
- Ability to interpret and work from blueprints and mechanical/engineering drawings- 8+ years turbomachinery experience with Solar Gas Turbines
- A&P License with experience with turbine engines
- Advanced computer skills (4 years)
- Associate or technical degree (or equivalent) in a related technical discipline
- Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience working with precision measuring devices, such as internal/external calipers, micrometers, pie tape, etc.
