Location: Greater Milwaukee Area – On-Site

Salary: $155,000 – $175,000

Role Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Engineering Manager to lead mechanical design, automation integration, and equipment development within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Required Qualifications

- 8+ years of engineering experience, ideally within flexible packaging, converting, laminating, printing, or a closely related machinery environment

- Proficiency in SolidWorks and mechanical design for parts, components, and full assemblies

- Experience with heat sealing, laminating, converting, or similar industrial equipment

- Understanding of supported and unsupported substrates and material behavior

- Hands-on experience with mechatronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, actuators, and automated sub-assemblies

- Strong knowledge of PLCs, servos, VFDs, and vector drives used in web-handling systems

- Ability to manage engineering timelines, budgets, vendor communication, and resource planning

- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving ability

- Experience collaborating with process engineering, operations, quality, and maintenance

- Experience with prototyping, performance testing, FAT processes, and machine startup procedures

- Knowledge of CE, ISO, OSHA, and related industry safety and compliance standards

Desired Qualifications

- Experience working with flexographic, gravure, or digital printing systems

- Prior leadership experience mentoring engineers or technical staff

- Success improving machine reliability, throughput, automation efficiency, or material-handling performance

- Background in advanced web-handling principles or adjacent printing processes
