Description
The Engineering Manager will oversee multiple engineering employees and projects ensuring timely and accurate completion of work orders. This position will partner closely with Construction Management and Splicing teams to ensure successful completion of builds in multiple markets across New Mexico. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience, be skilled in project tracking and scheduling, and understand utility Engineering practices.

- Excellent knowledge in engineering & construction principles & practices.
- Experience and knowledge with aerial, buried, and underground designs.
- Experience and knowledge with utility Road-Move types of projects.
- Proficiency in industry software and databases such as: AutoCad, Visio, MicroStation.
- Manages Projects/Programs and/or people (including but not limited to, Project Coordinators, Project Assistants, QA/QC, overseeing performance management, time management, promotions, discipline actions, hiring, etc.)
- Oversees the management of external subcontractors on projects; includes budgets, performance management, production standards, etc.
- Prepares for and facilitates project status meetings with external customers and internal leadership teams on the portfolio of active projects.
- Responsible for ensuring all team members and subcontractors are in alignment to achieve customer project goals and outcomes.
- Ability to read, understand, and prepare drawings, diagrams, and other documents.
- Ability to research, prepare, submit, and acquire all types of permits (city, county, municipality, TCP, and specialty types: RR, BLM, Forest Service) and easements.
- Responsible for reviewing and auditing project drawings, calculations & specifications before submitting to customers.
- Collaborate with multi-discipline team to ensure project success.
- Excellent verbal/written communications skills.
- Actively manages individual workload.
- Effectively assists in training and mentoring junior team members and CAD Drafters.
- Experienced with different Software/Database Applications; Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), AutoCAD.

- Recent/previous experience working in the telecom industry.
- B.S. in Engineering is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent knowledge in telco engineering & construction principles & practices.
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in General Discipline, or 7 years of equivalent industry experience. Recent/previous experience working in the telecom industry.
- Possession of a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required
- Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
