Steel Plate, LLC is a successful, highly experienced plate cutting and processing company, is seeking an Engineering Leader to manage and implement the Company’s engineering process to ensure proper execution of products which leads to customer satisfaction. This role leads continuous improvement activities within all departments to meet and/or exceed performance expectations.
Engineering Leader Responsibilities:
The Engineering Leader is responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of engineers while driving the execution of engineering tasks and projects. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and timely engineering solutions aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.
Duties:
•Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers and technical staff.
•Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and regulations.
•Provide high-level technical direction and problem-solving support.
•Collaborate with sales management to acquire and organize all technical orders. Additionally, any technical issues that arise at the workshop must be acknowledged to establish the best execution strategy.
•Collaborate with Product Operations, Quality, and other departments.
•Issues the final program, which includes identifying the Critical Path, the workforce profile, and the work sequence.
•Work with the Planning Team to develop the execution strategies.
•Develop the necessary control procedures for reviewing and approving the Work List, Cost Control, progress reports, and additional work.
•Optimize the computer programming in each CNC machine to achieve optimal results.
•Ensure that all technical requirements in every order are resolved, such as flatness issues with parts or concerns about burning.
•Domain and control all the CAD activities on time.
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, etc.)
•5+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in leadership roles
•Proven track record of managing cross-functional engineering teams and complex projects
•Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Physical Demands
•Ability to sit, stand, walk for long periods of time
•Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a phone, computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
•Requires the ability to communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone
Work Environment
•Familiar with manufacturing environment with regular exposure to factors such as moving particles, temperature extremes, moving machinery, equipment and loud noise
•Average office noise levels, and ear protection along with other PPE required when working in plant
•Ambient temperature between 50 and 100 degrees
