Engineering Firm CAD Tech

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Technician to join our Engineering Firm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in computer-aided design and drafting, with experience in various CAD software applications. As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting engineering and construction projects by creating accurate and detailed drawings, schematics, and models that meet project specifications.

Responsibilities

- Conduct research using AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) zoning codes and design guides.

- Create zoning compliant, real-world concepts for proposed projects in various locations throughout continental U.S.

- Simulate site access functionality using ACAD auto-drive.

- Contact utility companies to confirm availability of water, sewer, electric, gas, and telecom.

- Coordinate official address assignment for new projects.

- Communicate with project manager and teammates to ensure project completion meets deadlines.

- Schedule meetings with AHJ for project managers.

- Deliver documents to AHJ and other agencies.

Skills

- Proficiency in CAD software.

- Experience in drafting 2D animations for presentations or project proposals is a plus.

- Ability to create accurate schematics that clearly communicate design intent.

- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders effectively.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
