We are actively seeking an Engineering Co-Op Student to join our Production Engineering Cold Lake Team in Calgary. Reporting to the Team Lead, Production, the student will be responsible for supporting production engineering activity for Strathcona’s Cold Lake SAGD assets. They will work closely with field operations and asset team members to optimize production rates, well design, reservoir efficiency, equipment longevity, and operating costs.
This opportunity will begin January 2026 and will be available for a 12-month term.
- Daily monitoring and reporting of area production volumes
- Work closely with field operations staff to trouble shoot well performance issues.
- Monitor well pair data quality to ensure that accurate instrumentation and testing data is collected.
- Create production, downtime, and workover dashboards in Tableau to improve team efficiency with data review and analysis.
- Assist production engineers with day-to-day requirements as needed.
- Project reviews and lookbacks.
- Enrolled in a University Co-op or Internship program.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – adaptable to a wide range of personalities.
- Thrive in a collaborative team setting, intrinsically motivated, enthusiastic, and a positive attitude.
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
