As Engineer Sr - Automation, you will provide programming, troubleshooting, training and commissioning services for sophisticated automated compression and process control systems throughout the enterprise. Confidence in presentation-making and the ability to work independently and as a team leader are crucial in this role. Taking initiative, anticipating customer needs and crafting innovative solutions are keys to success!
Day In The Life
In addition, you will develop and implement condition-based maintenance programs, enhance the reliability of automation systems, and assist with equipment outages and maintenance. Your responsibilities include reviewing management of change plans, supporting project design and automation systems, developing and delivering training programs, coordinating firmware and software testing, creating implementation plans, and performing due diligence.

•Applies specialized knowledge in the effective completion of major projects while supervising and controlling costs and resources associated with projects
•Prepares and delivers presentations
•Maintains a strong understanding of industry and operational requirements
•Interprets and anticipates internal and external business challenges and customer needs; improves products, processes or services and identifies solutions
•Collaborates with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needs
•Serves as content lead and custodian for operations and maintenance requirements, guidelines and variance requests
•Supports technical security initiatives and hardware refreshes
•Technical specialist for additions, suspensions and deletions of approved manufacturer list for enterprise
•Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
•Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum of eight (8) years' engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
•Preferred: PE Certification

•Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skills
•Proficiency in engineering specialties covering more than one subject area
•Required: Experience developing control engineering documents (Control
•Narrative, Cause & Effect, Control Philosophy, etc.)
•Required: Experience commissioning midstream facilities
•Required: Strong working knowledge of natural gas processing and process control
•Required: Working experience with HMI software, including but not limited to RS View/FactoryTalk View, Wonderware
•Required: Solid working knowledge of NEC code, API RP 500, and applicable regulations surrounding electrical power and instrumentation systems in
•Required: High level of expertise in industry standard control systems, specifically Allen Bradley PLCs and SCADA Pack PLCs
•Required: Experience with implementing control strategies commonly utilized in compression facilities, including PID control loops, motor controls, alarm management, and advanced controls
•Preferred: Experience working in a Preliminary-Front End Engineering and Design (Pre-FEED), Front End Engineering Design (FEED), or Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) of small to medium facility projects
•Experience providing technical recommendations in the design, construction, and modification of Instrumentation and electrical (Low voltage and medium voltage) systems for new or existing facilities
, May direct work of other engineers and/or support staff. Activities typically involve assignments of a specialized function or engineering discipline and include technical and economic evaluation, performance testing, design and construction of new facilities, or upgrading existing facilities, and research on new developments. This role is focuses on automation. Provide programming, troubleshooting, training and commissioning services for complex Automated compression and process control systems throughout the Williams system. These automation systems may incorporate multiple control system platforms requiring the use of various programming protocols.
