The company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I who is responsible for the development, design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of mechanical equipment in an LNG facility, with supervision.
This position is based at the LNG Facility, however, some travel to local off-site locations as required. This position requires the incumbent to hold a valid, unexpired driver license at all times in order to perform the essential functions of the job.

- Supports operations, maintenance, and engineering assisting in optimizing performance and troubleshooting mechanical equipment problems to improve integrity, performance, and reliability.
- Monitors and supports QA and QC for mechanical engineering and maintenance execution plans.
- Supports improving equipment efficiency and effectiveness, while updating procedures and drawings.
- Supports collecting information from operations and maintenance and preparing reports (including MOCs, ESRs, and RFIs).
- Supports development of quality assurance plans.
- Collects data to track KPIs against objectives.
- Applies best practices in Regulatory, Process Safety, and Reliability.
- Provides responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Supports evaluation of contractor proposals.
- Supports Management of Change packages.
- Supports team meetings.
- Applies internal design standards, specifications, and approved vendor lists.
- Supports root cause analysis gathering data, completing checklists and action plans, solutions and assisting developing reports.
- Supports Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
- Supports proactive maintenance and predictive maintenance.
- Develops self and completes mandatory training
- Supports development of project justification documents for the internal approval process.
- Participates in HazOps, HazIDs, and Risk Assessments as required.
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance

- Ability to communicate clearly between operations, maintenance and engineering teams.

Minimum Education Required: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Minimum Experience Required: • 1+ Years of Mechanical Engineering Experience

- Proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines.

Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Operates in a professional office environment within or outside of an industrial plant environment.
- Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and filing cabinets.
- Must be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
- Possible exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.

- Possible exposure to constant, or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.
- Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending, standing on a stool, or climbing as necessary to perform these functions.
- While performing the duties of this role, the incumbent may be required to talk or hear.
