ROLE OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Program Manager, Distribution, the Engineer in Training (Distribution) will design distribution projects for Hardline Engineering clients. The E.I.T. will collaborate with various divisions including safety, stakeholder engagement & permitting, engineering, asset management, construction, accounting and procurement.
Responsibilities:
•Assist with the design of distribution models that meet all required code requirements and client standards. Including developing terrain models from scratch and building libraries from scratch including material, weather, structure and loading files.
•Preparing scopes of work, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and developing detailed design documents.
•Understanding of both underground and overhead distribution and line theory and construction to make appropriate site assessments.
•Understanding of asset management and maintenance planning.
•Ensuring engineering work is consistently accurate, of a high quality, scheduled and completed to meet project deliverables.
•Manage, prioritize and effectively deliver multiple projects and work requests both internally and externally with clients.
•Looks for continuous improvement opportunities and mentors and guides junior staff.
•Perform periodic inspection audits, record finding, produce reports with recommendations and corrective action plans to ensure consistent application of H&S procedures and practices.
•Participate in department training programs.
•Maintain up-to-date electrical engineering knowledge and stay current with industry trends and best practices.
•Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Degree in Electrical Engineering from a program accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board and Registered (or eligible for registration) for EIT and eventually a P. Eng. (or equivalent) designation
•1+ Years of Distribution Design experience considered an asset.
•Entrepreneurial approach and the ability to take on challenges in a changing environment;
•Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives;
•Proficiency with computer systems and applications including the Microsoft Office Suite.
•Ability to manage multiple assignments with tight timelines;
•Self-motivated, positive attitude, strong client focus and results driven;
•Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with internal and external customers, stakeholders and co-workers;

•Willing to travel from time to time for site audits and inspections.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00-$78,000.00 per year
