Leer South (Wolf Run Mining, LLC) is looking for an Engineer III to join our successful team in Philippi, West Virginia.
- Prepare and monitor short and long range mine plans, including production/coal quality forecasting.
- Prepare mine plans, roof control plans, mine ventilation plans/mapping, mine drainage design, mine ventilation system design, mine supply water handling, and rock dust systems.
- Prepare accurate and timely volumetric calculations and provide monthly production and royalties.
- Analyze labor requirements, equipment needs and operational costs to compute and prepare annual budget reports as well as accurately forecast future performance on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Provide accurate and timely reports of mine performance including section performance statistics.
- Provide cost analysis of projects and prepare AFEs for all mine related capital projects.
- Plan and oversee capital projects to ensure timely completion within budgeted costs.
- Plan and carry out special projects as required by mine management.
- Oversee all aspects of underground surveying, including underground construction surveying.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in mining, civil engineering, or equivalent field
- 5-7 Years engineering experience
- Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of underground surveying practices
- Working knowledge of all applicable MSHA and WVMHS&T rules and regulations
