As an Electronics Technician, you’ll report to the Technical Manager and form an integral part of our Support department, being responsible for a diverse set of tasks. As part of the role, you’ll be working in the office, based just outside of Toronto in Richmond Hill.
- Testing and Maintenance of Geophysical Equipment: Conduct thorough testing and routine maintenance of geophysical equipment to ensure optimal performance;
- Equipment Repair: Execute repairs on equipment following established repair procedures, troubleshooting to the component level;
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to customers via email, phone, or video call, addressing their queries and concerns effectively;
- Mechanical Skills: Apply mechanical skills in tandem with electronics expertise to address comprehensive equipment issues;
- Demonstrations and Training: Possibility to conduct equipment demonstrations and training sessions, either in the office or in the field, to enhance customer understanding and proficiency;
- Documentation: Complete detailed reports documenting activities and time spent on tasks, ensuring accurate customer billing and maintaining internal records; and
- Other duties as required.
- Education & Experience: Electronics Technician/Technologist Diploma or equivalent with minimum 3 years of experience in repairing electronics;
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with electronics testing, soldering equipment, and mechanical skills for comprehensive equipment troubleshooting;
- Independence and Teamwork: Must be able to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
- Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills are essential for effective interaction with team members and customers;
- Time Management: Ability to multi-task and prioritize conflicting demands effectively under time constraints; and
- Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Geophysical Knowledge: Knowledge of geophysical equipment, theory, and applications is considered an asset;
· French Proficiency: Proficiency in French is considered an asset; and
· Availability for Travel: Availability to travel on occasion for training and demonstrations.
