American Well Services is located in Midland, TX and provides well service rigs for the purpose of workover or completion operations. Along with the well service rigs, AWS offers a wide range of additional wellsite support services including, fluid transfer, fishing and rental services, hot oiling, frac tank rental and wellsite construction. AWS is managed by seasoned industry veterans and services blue-chip customers in the Permian Basin with a substantial asset base, strong safety culture and industry-leading operating procedures. American Well Services provides a full suite of completions and workover solutions to customers in the Permian Basin.
The Electronics Maintenance Technician maintains, installs, tests, and repairs all devices associated with I&E (Instrumentation and Electrical) field operations processes and equipment. Responsible for repairs and preventative maintenance including but not limited to heavy equipment (Bulldozer, Maintainer, Roller, Grader, Backhoe, etc.); transportation equipment (tracker, trailer, dump truck, belly dump truck, etc.) and light vehicle maintenance.
- Identifies problems requiring maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment during inspection and repair process
- Ability to supervise shift of technicians, oversee and assign workload of staff on shift
- May assist other technicians on mechanical issues and training
- Analyze equipment and maintenance related data and enter into KPA for management review
- Provide technical and design support for diagnostic computers, networks, field IT systems, and operation equipment.
- Able to troubleshoot and provide preventative maintenance on all levels of the oilfield equipment
- Able to work in both Shop and Field environments
- Knows and uses appropriate PPE at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
- Valid driver’s license with clean record; Class A CDL preferred
- Experience working on rigs, diesel engine transmissions, PTO’s, hydraulics, and controls
- 5 years oil field equipment experience or equivalent
- Intermediate knowledge computers and electronics
- Ability to communicate, read & write in English
- Ability to clear/pass pre-employment screening, testing and job-relevant hiring requirements
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States, as required by law
- Able to stand; walk; use hands to, handle or feel; reach overhead with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
- Able to deal with wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat/cold
- Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles and moderate to loud noise, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE
