Located: Charleston, SC
Environment: Depending on site, it will include working on the exterior and interior of buildings. The Electrician must be able to work in all conditions daily. Also, some work will be in restricted areas, often in cramped places or performed at heights from ladders, scaffolds, etc.
Travel: Must be able to commute to new job sites as business operations require.
Day to day:
•Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including lighting, climate control, security, and communications
•Work with blueprints when installing electrical systems in manufacturing facilities, waste water treatment plants and other structures
•Able to indicate on blueprints the location of circuits, outlets, load centers, panel boards, and other equipment
•Install new electrical equipment
•Maintain and repair electrical systems as quickly as possible in order to minimize inconvenience
•Able to replace items such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire
•May work with engineers or engineering technicians
•Perform the installation of various electrical systems per NEC state/local regulations and complete construction documents while maintaining the highest levels of OSHA compliance
•Review specifications, blueprints, and job scope for technical accuracy
•Perform electrical testing and monitoring of systems and makes recommendation for improvement/repair
•Carry personal tools, such as on a waist tool belt, which weighs approximately 30 lbs.
•Maintains good housekeeping, which may include, sweeping work area with a broom, organizing tools and materials, and keeping surfaces clean
