15 lightyears is looking for a full-time commercial Electrician to join our team. This position would be responsible for performing electrical wiring duties in a jobsite setting with relatively little supervision. This position will read blueprints, install switchgear, distribution panels, transformers, and other electrical gear, and perform other electrical duties related to general construction operations.
Location: 15 lightyears corporate office located in Longwood, FL. Job is performed in various counties across Central Florida (Orlando).
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm. Potential for overtime is available.

- Perform mid-level commercial electrical repair and installation.
- Assemble, install, and test electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures (including low-voltage systems).
- Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools.
- Plan layouts and prepare sketches or follow blueprints/one-line diagrams to determine the placement of wiring and equipment, ensuring compliance with building and safety codes.
- Place and secure conduit (metal and PVC) inside partitions, walls, or concealed areas, and pull insulated wires/cables through conduit to complete circuits.
- Fasten outlet/switch boxes and related hardware, and install junction boxes, disconnects, switches, and meters.
- Inspect systems, equipment, and components for hazards, defects, or the need for adjustments/repairs, ensuring compliance with electrical codes.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using ammeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing devices to verify compatibility and safety.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems from junction box to meter.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, rooftops, or confined spaces to complete installations and repairs.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, measuring devices, and testing equipment.
- Perform trenching and related tasks as needed for installations.
- Conduct quality audits and inspections of products and processes.
- Supervise installations and apprentices, providing training and guidance.
- Collaborate effectively with crew members on commercial projects.- 4+ years of experience as a commercial electrician (solar experience a strong plus).
- OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial blueprints and one-line diagrams.
- Proficient in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems, wiring, conduit bending (metal & PVC), junction boxes, disconnects, and meters.
- Experience supervising crews and apprentices on commercial projects.
- Comfortable working at heights (rooftops, ladders, scaffolds) and in various weather conditions.
- Physically able to perform repetitive tasks including lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and trenching.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, test equipment, and construction equipment.
- Experience working in commercial crews of 2–10 members.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual is a plus.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
