I. Position Description
Provides operations and production support by providing electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and installation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Performs corrective and preventative electrical maintenance.
•Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical and electronic equipment and instrumentation systems using schematics, drawings, and other technical documentation.
•Performs electrical installation of new plant equipment and processes, including routing of electrical conduits, cable, or wire from current power sources.
•Instruct, implement, and enforce the company safety program and site-specific safety requirements.
•Keeps maintenance shop, and all materials storage areas neat, clean, and free of debris.
•Complies with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs.
•Performs other duties, as assigned by supervisor and/or higher classifications.
II. Qualifications
A. PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS
•Associate degree in electrical engineering, journeyman experience, or completion of a trade school program.
•5+ years’ experience as an industrial electrician.
•Knowledge of NFPA 70E: National Electric Code.
•2-3 years’ experience using various types of electrical testing equipment.
•2-3 years’ experience reading schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
•2-3 years’ experience troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical equipment ranging from 480Vac to 24Vdc.
•1-2 years’ experience troubleshooting, repairing, and installing various types of controls equipment such as relays, motor starters, pushbuttons, switches, etc.
•1-2 years’ experience troubleshooting, repairing, and installing Allen-Bradley PLC’s and controls.
•1-2 years’ experience troubleshooting, repairing, and installing AC/DC drives and motors.
•2-3 years’ experience troubleshooting, repairing, and installing various types of conduits, cable tray and wire.
•Ability to utilize computer operating systems.
•Good verbal and written communication skills.
•Grade of 70% or above on “Electrician Aptitude Test”.
•Average leadership skills, work ethic and problem solving.
•Able to work any shift, overtime, and rotating weekends.

III. Physical Requirements & Work Environment
A. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
B. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
