Electrician Helper/Apprentice

Justin Electric, based in Lincolnville Maine is currently searching for a Electrician Helper to add to our staff. We are a small, thriving electrical service company serving the Mid-Coast Maine area since 2015, including islands. We sell and install mini-split heat pumps and standby generators as well as provide general electrical work for both residential and commercial projects.

Job Summary

An Electrician Helper assists electricians with installing and maintaining electrical and power systems. Work sites include new construction, businesses, and residences. Work is both indoors and outside, sometimes in inclement conditions and requires climbing ladders and crawling underneath buildings or in attics.

This is an entry level skilled trade position with lots of room to grow. While previous experience is helpful we are happy to train serious individuals.

Responsibilities, under the direction of licensed Electrician:

Wire or rewire homes and businesses

Pull and fasten wires to connection boxes, switch panels, and other terminals

Install or replace devices including light fixtures, ceiling fans, electrical receptacles and circuit breakers

Use tools such as electric drills, conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, wire strippers, and handheld power tools

Replace old fuse/circuit boxes

Hook up power for appliances

Organize and carry equipment, supplies and material

Keep work vehicles clean and stocked

Clean up work sites and shop

Assist with transportation of vehicles and parts as needed

With training, repair and install generators and heat pumps

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Reliable daily transportation

Valid Maine driver’s license

Valid Maine Electrician Helper License or ability to get licensed

Able to travel by boat/ferry

Lift/carry at least 50 pounds
