PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The electrician must have a minimum of three years practical experience with verifiable knowledge of NEC codes The duties of the electrician will vary; however, they can expect to be responsible for various electrical activities and tasks, and ensuring the safety and compliance of the site. Most projects are government/wage scale jobs.
Key Responsibilities are and not limited to:
•Serves as a journeyman electrician installing, maintaining, repairing and testing electrical wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels and outlet boxes.
•Strong leadership and managerial skills
•Understanding of electrical code requirements with all work to be in compliance with local electrical codes (DC/MD/VA).
•Ability to interpret blueprints.
•Installing, connecting, inspecting and repairing electrical systems.

•Uses tools and equipment of the electrical trade.
•Follows safety procedures and electrical codes.
•Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
•Performs electrical work related to building electrical systems, distribution panels, and emergency generators.
•Plans and lays out needed routing, placement, and arrangement of systems, circuits, controls and equipment.
•Performs periodic tests using clamp-on meters to take readings of electrical loads.
•Uses tools, such as hacksaws, pipe benders, threading tools, and soldering equipment.
•Performs electrical work in connection with the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical wiring systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment.

•This position involves work at a construction site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors.
•The employee is often required to stand and walk; climb, balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch to regularly inspect job sites.
•The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to sit for hours during meetings and/or to process their paperwork etc.
Requirements:
•Electrical experience in a Govt’ setting.
•Proficiency with wire pulling, bending and running EMT, IMC,& Rigid conduit.
•Ability to terminate and troubleshoot.
•Must be able to safely use hand/power tools and PPE
•Must be able to perform job duties that require standing, crouching, twisting upper body, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
•Must wear PPE including steel toe work boots, hard hat, face mask, gloves, high visibility vest, and protective eyeglasses.
•Must have standard electrical hand tools.
•Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Journeyman Electrician
•OSHA 30 certification or ability to earn OSHA 30 certification preferred.
•Ability to maintain composure, professionalism and objectivity in difficult situations and effectively resolve conflicts.
•Computer skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software based on project requirements
•Ability to pass a government background check to work on Military Bases and in Government Facilities.
•Must hold a valid Driver’s License
