- Assists in installation of electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and control systems based on job specifications, NFPA and NEC code requirements for manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Review sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Follow the effort to maintain arc flash requirements and coordination studies
- Follows electrical equipment maintenance program to NEMA standards
- Recommends and implements improvements to equipment.
- Assists in coordination, installation, and training as required.
- Provides electrical technical support to both maintenance and production as needed. This includes (but is not limited to) training.
Required Education and Skills
(Not all skills are required.)- Journeyman’s license or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of electrical related experience
- Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Understanding of basic electrical theory, electrical systems, wiring, and all necessary equipment
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office.
- Experience with PLCs, HMI and AutoCAD
- Ability to organize, plan, and manage multiple priorities.
