Electrical Technician – 10-month contract

Position Summary:

The Electrical Technician supports railcar system testing and installation under the guidance of the Site Supervisor. This role involves hands-on electrical work, troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards.

Your Day-to-Day:

- Attend and follow daily job briefings and adhere to all site safety protocols

- Perform inspections and functional testing of railcar electrical systems per defined procedures

- Document test results and generate test record sheets

- Troubleshoot system failures and assist in root cause analysis and repair recommendations

- Install and repair electrical components including:

- - Wire harnesses and terminations

- Electrical connections (e.g., crimping)

- Conduits, enclosures, sensors, and devices

- Provide feedback to engineering for continuous improvement of procedures

- Sign off on quality control documentation and testing records

Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

- Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrician or electrical technician, preferably in heavy-duty vehicles or rail industry

- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, HVAC, and wiring

- Experience with system testing and troubleshooting in coordination with engineering teams

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics

- Commitment to safety and hazard mitigation

- AAR Carman certification is a strong asset

- Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
