OC San is currently looking to fill the role of an Electrical Technician II.
Under general supervision, the Electrical Technician II maintains, repairs, and installs electrical equipment up to 12K volts; performs predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment; assists contractors as necessary; and performs duties as assigned. Electrical work may be performed on controls, motors, transformers, variable frequency drives, batteries and generators. Specifically, isolating power, locating and troubleshooting problems and making necessary repairs; restoring power and checking equipment for proper operation; performing complex electrical circuit installation for additions or modifications; pulling wire and wiring in circuit as shown on blueprints; testing systems for proper installation; maintaining and repairing equipment at pump stations and plant facilities such as motors, vent fans, sump pumps, lighting systems, switchgears and uninterrupted power supply systems.
This individual will also be responsible for recording data in OC San's Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo), regarding equipment including voltage and amp readings, and date and type of work performed. Other duties include responding to inquiries and resolving complaints in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner; estimating time, materials, and equipment required for jobs; contacting other departments involved in the maintenance or repair of equipment; driving OC San vehicles; and performing related duties as required.
1. High school diploma or G.E.D., supplemented by specialized training or coursework such as relevant trade school in electrical technology or a related field.
2. Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical equipment.
3. Valid California Class C Driver's License.

Employment with the Orange County Sanitation District requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect.
