Position Summary:
The E & I Services Manager is responsible for the safe and profitable operations of the E & I business in the designated branch. This role will foster and promote Surepoint’s culture and core values through strong leadership, teamwork and achieving Strategic business goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:•Provide effective day-to-day management and leadership of the E &I operations to continuously improve safety, quality, people management, customer service, revenue growth opportunities, cost control, efficiency, risk management and culture.
•Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, provincial, and local regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures pertaining to the E & I operations.
•Effectively manage all resources including people, budgets, materials and time to ensure maximum efficiency in planning, forecasting, and implementation.
•Execute work in accordance with customer requirements and contracts (drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, procedures, quality requirements and safety standards) as well as Surepoint’s operational standards.
•Monitor productivity and cost; implement appropriate action as required.
•Monitor changes in work scope; ensure change orders are approved prior to the performance of work.
•Accountable for the overall financial performance of the E & I line of business including participating in budget development, forecasting, monitoring, variance analysis and reporting on financial targets.
•Responsible for the revenue generation of the E & I business for the branch in accordance with the annual financial plan.
•Collaborate with leadership to understand overall business goals and actively participate in the development of goals and objectives for your area of responsibility.
•Identifies priorities to grow the business, address resource and operational challenges with input from the team.
•Responsible for ensuring the right team is in place for the workload; this includes recruitment, training, retention and performance management of employees.
•Ensure that Surepoint has a positive and visible image in the communities we are operating in.
•Liaise with support functions to facilitate an efficient flow of information and communication.
•Meets regularly with key customers to review service quality and performance.
•Enhances and builds on current customer relationships to ensure customer retention.
•Manage operational issues as required.
Required Skills, Education and Experience:
•Minimum of five (5) years in a management or senior supervisory role.
•Strong technical background in electrical/instrumentation.
•Post-secondary education in business is an asset.
•Experience analyzing project/operational financial data and implementing performance action plans to improve operational results.
•Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and project management.
•Demonstrated leadership in the health, safety, and environment, change management, employee development (mentoring and skill development), performance management, and team building areas.
•Demonstrated initiative with the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment.
•Highly organized including time management, prioritization and productive multi-tasking.
•Able to build strong lasting customer relationships that drive repeat business.
•Demonstrates ability to build trust, has strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management.
•Able to understand and manage contractual agreements, assisting with requests for proposal as required.
•Travel occasionally will be required.
