Responsibilities:
•Maintenance & Repair:Perform routine maintenance, including calibration and preventive maintenance, on instrumentation and control equipment.
•Troubleshooting:Diagnose and resolve issues with instrumentation and control systems, often using test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and loop calibrators.
•Installation & Calibration:Install new instrumentation and control equipment, calibrate existing equipment, and ensure proper functioning.
•System Optimization:Contribute to the improvement and optimization of plant electrical/instrumentation systems and processes.
•Contractor Supervision:Supervise contractors performing electrical work, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and specifications.
•Drawing & Documentation:Read and interpret wiring schematics, instrument drawings, and component diagrams.
•Electrical System Maintenance:Maintain 480V and high voltage switchyard basic electrical systems.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
•Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, control systems, troubleshooting, and calibration.
•Practical Experience: 1-3 years of relevant work experience is often required.
•Education: An associate's degree in electronics, instrumentation, or a related field is common.
•Certifications: Some positions may require specific certifications.
Working Environment:
•Power plants can have a demanding work environment, requiring technicians to work under pressure and potentially in hazardous conditions.
•They may work in a variety of power plant settings, including nuclear, fossil fuel, and renewable energy facilities
