SUMMARY: Relevant Power Solutions (RPS) is a diversified power company with extensive experience with aero-derivative gas turbines. At our manufacturing facility in Houston, we design, build, and test gas turbine packages for use in the power generation and gas compression markets. In addition to packaging, we also provide Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services, integrating gas turbine packages with Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment, to provide a turnkey power plant solution. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the RPS team and make an immediate impact and play a crucial role supporting both packaging and EPC projects.
- Assist the engineering team to contribute to the design of various systems and components for gas turbine packages and EPC Projects.
- Assist in the development and review of electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and equipment specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
- With guidance, contribute to the creation of Engineering Specifications for equipment such as generators, transformers, switchgear, power distribution systems, motors, MCC’s, control cabinets/systems, auxiliary power, lighting, and safety systems. Assist in the review vendor submitted materials against Engineering Specifications and project requirements.
- Support the selection of components for Bills of Material (BOMs) and work closely with procurement to source materials and components.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input for continuous improvement of product and project designs.
- Support manufacturing, testing, and field installation efforts by providing technical expertise and by troubleshooting issues.
- Stay up to date with continuing education, industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in electrical engineering, incorporating relevant innovations into project designs.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management as required to meet the project goals and objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university.
- 1-5 years of relevant entry-level or internship experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a design or manufacturing environment.
- General knowledge of electrical engineering and design principles, including ohm’s law, circuit design, 3 phase power, equipment and cable sizing, rules of protections for over/under voltage, overcurrent and differential; area classification, enclosures per NEMA and IEC/IP, and industry standards (e.g. IEEE, IEC, NEC),
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, AutoCAD, or similar software.
