Job Summary
NAES is seeking experienced Electrical Commissioning Leads to support the commissioning phase of a simple-cycle power project in Oklahoma. This position will oversee testing, energization, and startup of major electrical systems, ensuring safe and compliant execution of project commissioning activities. The Electrical Commissioning Lead will coordinate with construction, I&C, and operations teams to deliver a successful and timely project startup.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead commissioning and energization of electrical systems including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, and substations.
- Coordinate electrical testing and verification with third-party contractors.
- Manage system turnovers, documentation, and redlines.
- Enforce safety and LOTO procedures during commissioning activities.
- Identify and resolve issues affecting system readiness and performance.
- Support planning and scheduling of commissioning milestones.
- Strong understanding of electrical testing, startup, and commissioning processes for power generation facilities.
- Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Experience leading or supervising electrical commissioning teams on EPC or owner’s projects.
- Knowledge of electrical commissioning procedures for medium- and low-voltage systems, including protective relays and circuit breaker testing.
- Proficiency in coordinating system turnovers, troubleshooting field issues, and verifying completion against project specifications.
- Proven ability to lead commissioning teams and coordinate activities between construction, I&C, and testing personnel to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
- OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
- 10+ years of electrical commissioning experience on gas turbine or power generation projects.- Familiarity with GE 7FA and Mark VIe systems strongly preferred.
