Electrical Assembler

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for assembling, building, and wiring industrial electrical panels and controls.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Read and interpret electrical blueprints.

2. Follow electrical schematics to build panels, assemble CNC packages, drives, motors, terminal blocks, PLC’s, switches, safety circuits, and related.

3. Wire complete machines and sub-assemblies.

4. Utilize photos, blueprints, engineering sketches, and verbal instructions to build products).

5. Use PC/wire label printer to create wire numbers.

6. Use tools of the trade: meters; screwdrivers; knock-out punches; drills; taps; wire cutters; crimpers; soldering iron; wrenches; air/electric drills; die grinders; and related.

7. Ability to utilize all paint equipment (paint shaker, orbital sander, DA sander, plain or black Sander, paint gun cleaner, disposable paint gun items, basic hand tools, air hose, buffing tools).

8. Ensure safe machine startup, verify correct voltage, phasing, and troubleshoot startup issues.

9. Utilize overhead cranes and proper rigging or lifting devices.

10. Operate a forklift when necessary.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Safety minded. Must wear steel or composite toe safety shoes, safety glasses. Knowledge of electrical safety.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School diploma/GED equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Willing to train a qualified individual (Demonstrated Mechanical Aptitude, Student currently enrolled in Industrial trade) or recent Trade/Tech School Graduate.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: High school diploma.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year of electrical assembly.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires majority of time standing and walking. Requires normal speaking skills, vision, and hearing. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and body dexterity to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, handle, climb and balance. Regular use of hand/eye coordination.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
