Under general supervision of the Information Systems Manager, performs work in the operation, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and instrumentation equipment and systems.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
Responsible for the maintenance of
electrical equipmentincluding pumps, motors, Motor Control Centers (MCC), safety switches, transformers, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), power supplies, lighting, power panels, etc.;
instrumentation equipmentincluding mass airflow meters, mag tubes, pressure transmitter, thermal couples and Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD), chart recorders, etc.; and
process control instrumentationincluding Dissolved Oxygen (DO) probe, ammonia probe, Total Suspended Solids (TSS) probe, chlorine analyzer, ultrasonic and radar level detectors, etc. by performing both skilled and semi-skilled manual work, skilled electrical work, and semi-skilled technical work.
Troubleshoots and programs Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), soft starts, and motor starters for new and existing installations.
Performs the repair, replacement and/or modification of instrumentation, electrical and/or controls.
Removes, installs, reconditions repairs and calibrates electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Installs conduit and wiring for new installations or for repair purposes.
Certificates, Licenses, And Registrations
Valid Illinois CDL Class A or B driver's license is required or must be obtained within 100 working days of hire.
