KLE is seeking full-time candidates who are experienced in utility construction project management to join our growing company and manage electric substation and transmission projects in northern California. The position requires a strong technical background, project management skills and experience, a solid reputation of building and maintaining key client relationships and a strong interest in business development. The position will focus on reviewing electric power construction work to ensure contractors are meeting project standards, maintaining project schedule, and staying within project budget. In addition, the successful construction project manager will:
· Plan all phases of electric transmission project lifecycles from initiation to completion.
· Ensure contractor compliance with project plans and specifications as well as permit conditions and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
· Work with project team to develop and execute value engineering ideas during the design phase
· Develop bid documents for work scope with project team members and negotiate construction contracts
· Communicate with contractors and clients to deliver project status updates.
· Develop and monitor contractor adherence to project budget, schedule, and quality control plan.
· Collaborates with engineers, materials sourcing, contract management, land and environmental management, construction contractors, and other subject matter experts.
· Report to senior management teams on project progress, potential risks and help needed
· Experienced with managing power line construction work preferred
· Ability to build strong relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors.
· Excels at organization, time-management, problem-solving, and budgeting.
· Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, including hiking with safety gear in rough terrain and hot weather conditions
· Northern California travel is required 10% - 20% of the time
