Job Summary
ENGINEER – CORPORATE OFFICE (CHARLETON, WV)
Mountaineer Gas Company is currently recruiting an Engineer to join our Engineering team at the corporate office in Charleston, WV. One of the Engineering Department’s duties is to manage distribution system hydraulic models through periodic update of model, GIS data and customer loads. Validation of hydraulic models using actual conditions observed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
•Build/update hydraulic models to incorporate facility additions or changes and customer loads. Periodically validate models using actual observed system performance measurements (i.e. pressure, flow).
•Conduct special analyses or projects to improve modeling and hydraulic system planning.
•Review validated models with area engineering and local operations to ensure accuracy and increase buy-in from key stakeholders.
•Perform Lost and Unaccounted For (LUAF) gas analysis.
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
•Experience with design models, pipeline hydraulics, and pipe and equipment sizing/selection.
•Proficiency with various computer applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
•Ability to travel with overnight stays as required.
Preferences:
•Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
•Natural gas industry experience preferred.
•Experience with Synergi Gas Software and manipulation of GIS data and databases to update models.
•Detailed understanding of gas pipeline flow.
•Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
•Experience with ESRI desktop products (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcReader).
