About This Job

PURPOSE

Serves as the Drywall Finisher for assigned department. Reports timely to project leader on site and performs tasks as needed/assigned. Adheres to safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Travels between job sites as needed.

SIGNIFICANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

•

Perform all steps of drywall finishing as a team

•

Understands the 5 levels of finishing and demonstrate each.

•

Utilizes tools such as: Bazookas, Banjos, Flat and angle boxes, corner rollers, and power sanders.

•

Experience with all types and ranges of commercial drywall finishing.

•

Measures and marks surface to finish and level of finish work according to blueprints and drawings.

•

Inspects drywall surfaces for imperfections (screw heads, misaligned joints, bad hanging etc.) then mark drywall surface with pencil prior to starting.

•

Understands the right joint compound (quickset, lightweight, or standard) to be used at appropriate situations.

•

Eliminates visible joints, knows how to eliminate air bubbles, tapes are not blistered, switch and receptacle boxes are finished tight

•

Install cornerbead, trim beads, reveal beads straight, plumb and on tight utilizing string lines, laser, square, or straight edge.

•

Ability to work independently on job sites

•

Coordination with GC and other subcontractors regarding project expectations

•

Skill required to patch/repair existing drywall into likenew appearance

Must be able to comprehend basic instructions.

Willingness to ask for help when needed.

Must be ontime to jobsites.

•

Read Tape Measure, knowledge of basic carpentry tools

•

Basic Math Skills

•

Ability to Learn and comprehend basic instructions

Provides Own Transportation

•

Physical Strength and Stamina

•

Team OrientedCooperate with Ritsema field leaders in performing assigned tasks.

•

Be willing to complete additional tasks as needed.

•

Must be able to pass preemployment physical and drug screen. This position requires being able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. regularly, bending, kneeing, and twisting. This position also requires that the employee provide, maintain, and replace their own hand tools. Power tools and specialty tools will be provided by the employer.
