Must be able to commute to Winnemucca, NV where you will ride in a company vehicle to job site.
Position: Driller is responsible for the operation of drilling equipment to ensure integrity and productivity. Perform drilling in accordance with planned work to be done while carefully following plans and specifications. Position requires overtime to meet the needs of our customers. Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Experience: 1 (or more) year of experience as a driller. Willing to train the right candidate.
- Fluent in the use of equipment’s operator, parts, and technical manuals.
- Fluent in the operation of top hammer and/or down the hole cab drills.
- Must satisfy the requirements for a “possessor of explosives” as defined by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
- Knowledgeable and use practices consistent with company policies and procedures from applicable technical modules, all company SOP, work site, regulatory and safety policies, and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and manager.
- Knowledge of drill and blast outcomes and blasting.
- Ability to perform a thorough drill area inspection, workplace examination.
- Responsible for maintaining, servicing, repairing, and operating drilling equipment.
- Willing and capable to perform preventative maintenance on drill.
- Understands the various methods of determining angles & drill depths of face holes or presplit.
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspection and complete daily equipment reports.
- Ability to manage tooling costs.
- Reliable, good time management skills.
- Willing to work overtime to meet the needs of our customers.

- Operate auxiliary equipment in support of equipment operators, including forklifts, winches, and hand tools in order to provide timely, safe, and quality service and product to the customer.
- Read gauges and make adjustments to equipment to maintain proper performance in order to assure quality and accurate product delivery.
- Assist Equipment Operators and Blasters at blast site in order to safely serve the customer. Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions in shop, while operating equipment, and while on blast sites in order to protect personal safety and the safety of others.
- Knowledgeable of, and comply with applicable DOT, OSHA, MSHA, EPA and BATFE.
- Proactively handle safety issues and practice Take 5! process by using the HAT tool to promote personal responsibility for safety.
- Maintain safe working conditions and assure that all crew members and others on the site follow all safety and regulatory procedures and practices to ensure a safe and successful event.
Must be able to work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, temperatures, and climates. Physically travel between offices and remote field locations. Must wear personal protective equipment where required. May require lifting of up to 60 lbs.
