Mechanical Drafter/Detailer.
Harris Thermal Transfer Products is seeking a skilled AutoCAD Drafter/Detailer with a desire to work in a team-oriented environment. The position is for an individual that would like a long-term career in the manufacturing design field.
The right candidate will become part of our team and will ultimately learn, gain experience, and grow all while taking on more responsibilities. They will be expected to understand the product and then be able to create and edit designs. The position will require excellent computer and communication skills. They will also need self-motivation to complete and analyze varying drawings and requirements accordingly. An ideal candidate would have an interest in design, drafting and mathematics. They would have a great attention to detail, flexibility, and be innovative.
- Building lasting relationships with coworkers.
- Working as a part of a project team with project managers, engineers, fabricators, welders, and others from concept through construction.
- Cohesively work with all departments to learn the manufacturing process and workflow and expectations from start to finish.
- Expanding personal knowledge and skills as you work on a wide range of projects.
- To work as part of the engineering department to generate complete, accurate, and consistent fabrication drawings and full bill of materials using AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
- To work with purchasing and the parts department generating Shop Work Orders using Microsoft Excel to ensure all materials and components are available and processed appropriately to meet shop fabrication production demands.
- To produce necessary layout patterns and tool path programs for CNC equipment.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
- Must have sound drafting skills using CAD software (AutoCAD preferred)
- Must be computer savvy. Able to learn new methods, programs and procedures quickly.
- Must be able to quickly learn and understand the idiosyncrasies of different machines and processes that impact layout requirements.
- Self-disciplined and reliable. Able to prioritize own work and get projects completed on time.
- Detail oriented and accurate. Willing to proof work to minimize errors.
- Strong math, geometry and layout skills.
- Good organizational, logistic, and planning skills.
- Must possess good communication skills both written and oral and able to effectively work with others.
