Our Distribution Yard Associate is tasked with assisting train and barge off loads from the ground , shoveling, using hand tools, maintaining conveyors. This is a physical job that requires someone to be safe and work in a team environment. There is exposure to the environments all day - hot is hot, cold is cold. We use wheel loaders, skid steers and excavators. Very important aspect of the position is being open to a varying schedule due to barge and rail timelines that align with customer needs. There could be early mornings or late evening and weekend work. Every task is working within the team - the team prides itself on looking after each other to ensure everyone is safe. An average day will start with a team meeting to discuss upcoming loads, team assignments into various areas of the distribution yard, and a safety talk. We work together with a continuous improvement mindset.
Pay starts at $23.73 and could increase depending on experience and skills evaluated by management.
