We are currently seeking a Distribution Team Lead for 2nd Shift at our Cincinnati, OH facility. Basic Function:General shift supervisory oversight of employees within the Distribution department. With an essential focus on employee safety, maintaining productivity & quality standards, and scheduling carrier daily pick-ups.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Provide direction to subordinates regarding quality parameters and ensure quality is maintained through coaching, counseling, and discipline as needed.
•Ensure that employees have the proper training, safety equipment, and tools to perform their roles safely. If an accident occurs, follow the proper protocol.
•Ensures employees adhere to the PPE policy and have the proper safety knowledge to complete their tasks.
•If an accident occurs, follow incident reporting.
•Helps the department remain on task and that production goals are met.
•Monitor attendance and accurately report absences, tardies, or leaving early.
•Ensure adherence to company, operational, and departmental procedures, requirements, and absolutes.
•Provide direction to subordinates regarding quality parameters and ensure quality is maintained through coaching, counseling, and discipline as needed.
•Work with carriers through phone and email to ensure freight is picked up daily and on time.
•Follow training schedule and train new department employees.
•Provide feedback to employees when and where needed and communicate enhanced employee training opportunities to the distribution manager.
•Delegate authority and responsibility to the lowest level possible, encouraging the growth and development of employees.
•Is the point of contact for the department when the department manager is unavailable.
•Has a working knowledge of the company’s policies and knows points of contact if/when issues arise.
•Manages conflict if it arises to create a productive team.
•Ensure employees are informed of key business issues and their responsibilities in support of them. Employees are encouraged to ask questions and provide input.
•Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Preferably has 5+ years’ experience in the department.
•A high School Degree/GED is preferred.
•Preferred to have supervisory or management experience within a distribution department or related operation
•Past job performance must have demonstrated a high degree of planning and organizing skills, human relations skills, and leadership ability.
Requirements:
•100 % of the time, must be able to bend, carry, lift, push, pull, reach, stand for prolonged periods of time, walk, and lift +/- 75 lbs.
•Must be able to walk throughout Senco’s manufacturing campus, up to 530,000 square feet.
•Must be able to work off shifts and/or overtime when assigned, sometimes on short notice.
•Good analytical and problem-solving skills and abilities
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Accurate record keeping.
•Proficient skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook).
