Job Title: Director of Transactional Processes
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Overview
We’re not just looking for someone to manage transactions — we’re looking for a builder, a transformer, and a curious operator who thrives in complexity and drives clarity. As our Director of Transactional Processes, you’ll lead Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Sales Tax, and Credit — but more importantly, you’ll design, build, and execute the future state of these functions with precision, urgency, and creativity.
This isn’t a role for someone who supervises automation from afar. It’s for the person who has personally implemented automation systems, mapped data, formatted NACHA files, coded rulesets, or re-engineered invoice flows — and loved every second of it.
Who We’re Looking For
You’re a naturally inquisitive professional — someone who gets energized by systems, data, and operational puzzles. You might be a mid-career leader who’s delivered high-impact results like:
•Cutting invoice cycle time by half.
•Automating 90% of manual payment runs.
•Building dashboards that actually change behavior on the floor.
You aren’t just fluent in metrics like DSO or working capital — you care about execution-level KPIs like:
•Invoice-to-PO match rates.
•Frequency of 3-way match failures.
•Volume of invoices processed via PPV.
•Vendor shipment invoice ratios.
You believe these are the real story — not just the output, but the trail of breadcrumbs to where improvement starts.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Optimization
•Lead high-performing teams across AP, AR, Sales Tax, and Credit.
•Build scalable, tech-driven workflows that improve accuracy and reduce cycle times.
•Design and implement automation, EDI, API integrations, and NACHA file workflows within our ERP (Infor CloudSuite Distribution).
•Translate operational inefficiencies into strategic initiatives, and turn them into measurable results.
Systems & Execution
•Master and enhance our current ERP and financial systems — especially CSD (Infor CloudSuite Distribution).
•Develop controls, triggers, and audits that reduce risk and increase straight-through processing.
•Collaborate with IT and finance to deploy smart automation solutions — not just theoretical, but in production.
KPI Ownership
•Own execution-level metrics and develop insight tools that show why things happen, not just what happened.
•Build real-time dashboards and reporting tied to operational throughput, accuracy, and quality.
Credit & Tax
•Ensure regulatory compliance across sales tax filings and audit responses.
•Own credit policy strategy, credit risk management, and collections processes that enable responsible growth.
Preferred Experience & Skills
•Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
•7+ years leading AP/AR/Credit in high-volume environments, preferably in distribution.
•Hands-on experience implementing automation, EDI, and NACHA file integration into ERP or bank systems.
•Strong knowledge of Infor CloudSuite (CSD) or similar ERP systems.
•Deep understanding of transaction-level KPIs and process performance metrics.
•Exceptional ability to drive change while navigating ambiguity.
•Proactive, high-execution mindset — thrives under pressure, solves for root cause.
