The Director of Strategic Sourcing will be responsible for leading the Strategic Sourcing function for all Intrepid operations, leading the Sourcing teams in New Mexico and Utah, owning purchasing strategy, vendor management, cost control, and inventory planning, and overseeing the procurement of goods and services essential to our operations. The Director will work with a sense of urgency to address operational inefficiencies using data-driven analytics and will be intellectually curious with an ownership mentality and deep commitment to excellence to ensure that all sourcing activities align with Intrepid’s strategic goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost savings and operational efficiencies across the organization
•Oversee the performance and development of the Strategic Sourcing team, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure high performance and continuous improvement
•Lead the sourcing and procurement activities for all major capital projects and operational needs
•Champion lean operational practices, driving continuous improvement in efficiency, accuracy, safety, and service levels and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance across the operations, procurement, sales, and finance teams
•Implement and improve KPIs across warehouses and procurement to monitor performance and drive operational discipline
•Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and contract management to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the company
•Analyze market trends and leverage industry knowledge to identify opportunities for strategic sourcing improvements
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives and operational requirements
•Report regularly to the Operations and Finance departments on sourcing activities, cost savings, and other key performance indicators
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
•At least 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, across multiple geographies
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
•Proven track record of achieving significant cost savings and value creation through strategic sourcing initiatives
•Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex supplier relationships and contracts
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions
•Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing and developing high-performing teams and successfully leading strategic sourcing functions within a large, complex organization
•Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization
•Proficiency in procurement and supply chain management software and tools
•Previous experience in the independent power sector or a related industry, with a deep understanding of the market dynamics and procurement practices specific to this field
•Demonstrated history of driving cost savings and operational efficiencies through innovative sourcing strategies and supplier management
•Ability to navigate and manage the complexities of sourcing for a multi-state warehouse operations and procurement functions
•Strong working knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies
•Excellent leadership and communication skills; proven ability to drive accountability and performance through others
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Incumbents must be able to perform work that requires typing, reading, communicating, sitting for prolonged periods of time, standing, and walking.

•Is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms
•Is occasionally required to walk and climb or balance
•May occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
In the event that the incumbent visits an operations worksite, personal protective equipment including but not limited to head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame-resistant clothing may be required.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Targeted salary range for this position is $170,000-200,000 annually. Salary commensurate with experience and skill set.
