Director of Operations

Position Summary:

Crown Fiber Optics is seeking a reliable and experienced Director of Operations to oversee telecommunications construction teams including underground, aerial, and splicing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day regional operations, ensuring job site safety, maintaining quality control, coordinating with subcontractors, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

- Developing and implementing the telecommunications strategy for the organization, including long-term planning for upgrades and new technologies.

- Ensure projects are executed according to engineering plans, permitting requirements, and company standards.

- Managing and mentoring a team of telecommunications professionals, providing guidance and performance management

- Review and verify work progress, redlines/as-builts, and project documentation.

- Communicate project status with internal teams, customers, and subcontractors.

- Developing and managing the telecommunications budget, ensuring cost-effective operations

- Resolve field-level conflicts and escalate issues as needed.

- Support training and mentorship of field staff to uphold quality and safety culture.

- Negotiating and managing relationships with vendors and contractors

- Qualifications: - 5+ years of construction supervisory experience, preferably in telecommunications or utilities.

- Strong knowledge of underground and aerial fiber optic installation practices.

- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, prints, and permits.

- Familiar with relevant safety regulations (OSHA, NESC, MUTCD, etc.).

- Proficient in using tablets, project tracking software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

- Ability to travel to job sites and work in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- OSHA 10/30 certification

- First Aid/CPR certification

- Experience with directional drilling, microtrenching, or splicing is a plus

- CDL (preferred, not required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
